What is the Silent Auction all about?
Local merchants and Madeleine families donate hundreds of items that are packaged for auctioning prior to the Oral Auction. Think of it like the "cocktail hour" prior to the main event. Traditionally it's been held in the gym before we head down to the Parish Hall for Dinner & Oral Auction. An example of Silent Auction offerings: wine, furniture, gift certificates for services, themed baskets full of goodies.When is it?
On Auction night, before the Dinner and Oral Auction begin.5-7:15pm

How do I participate?
On Auction Night, each guest received a bidder number as they arrive and each Silent Auction item has a bid sheet. Visit the Silent Auction tables and write your bid on the bid sheets. When that table "closes: the highest bidder wins that item or package. Arrive early so you don't miss the opportunity to wander thru, see, and bid on items from the Silent Auction. Missing this is like coming to the party late!
When do I bid?
Bidding for Silent Auction Offerings begins at the start of the event... 5pm.
When bidding, use your assigned bid number as you fill out the bid sheet.
Can I bid any amount?
No, there is a starting bid listed on the bid sheet for each item. After the initial bid, specific incremental increases are identified. You must choose the next incremental increase. For example: ABC Restaurant $50 Gift Certificate, bidding starts at $25. Increments are $5. Thus, if there is a bid of $30, you must be willing to bid $35 or more to beat the last bidder. Or to ensure you win that particular item, you may choose the highest incremental dollar amount.
When will bidding close?
Silent Auction Table Closings are typically 6:30, 6:55, and 7:15pm with a late table closing at 9pm downstairs in the Fireside Lounge.
These times will be listed in the Auction Catalog distributed online the week prior to the Auction and upon Check In on Auction Night. Signs will be posted on the tables identifying closing time.
If there's a particular item that you're keen on winning, it's recommended that you be there when that table closes to ensure that you have placed the highest bid. Many folks find themselves in a bidding war right as the tables close and that's where the fun really starts!

What about the Late Table?
The special Late Table will be open until 9pm. Look for the table in the Fireside Lounge be sure to place your bids. Check the item often to see if your bid still holds on any given item and place any new bid you wish to make. The Late Table often contains last minute donations and specialty items. You won't want to miss out on these offerings!
How do I pay?
Payment is collected at the Check Out table upon the conclusion of the Oral Auction.

Can I purchase tickets for the Silent Auction ONLY?
Yes, Silent Auction Only "Curiouser & Curiouser" tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door for $40.
- A complimentary Wine/Beer Wristband for use from 5-7:30pm is included with your Silent Auction Ticket.
- Dinner is not included with your Silent Auction Ticket.

- What are the Official Silent Auction Rules?
All Silent Auction items have bid sheets nearby. If you desire to bid on an item, write your bid number and amount legibly on the bid sheet. You may bid on each item as often as you please. Raises must be in the minimum amount specified on the bid sheet. If not observed, your bid will be void. Silent Auction tables have carious closing times starting at 6:30pm, then 6:55 and the last set of tables closing at 7:15pm. The Late Table Items will close at 9pm. The top (white) bid sheets will be removed and bidding on those items is closed. You may check with the cashier at any time to see if you were a successful bidder.
