Mixology Class and Night of Drinks for 8You'd have to be mad as a hatter to miss this forum of mixology and delicious drinks. Eight lucky friends will spend the evening learning the brass tacks of libation creation from Portland's own master mixologist and distiller, Mathew Mount of House Spirits. You'll be exploring the sensory pleasures of food and spirit pairings as you earn your honorary degree from the cocktail college. Leave your inhibitions at home and let your spirits soar, for a safe ride home provided by your hosts is all part of the deal.

6th Grade Class Project ~ A Tree Grows in Portland
Do you have a tired corner of your yard that needs a little help? Let the sixth grade class spruce (or maple...or hawthorn...or alder) it up for you with this tree-planting. The class has been honing their tree planting skills with the environmental organization SOLV, and they are eager to put what they have learned to good use. The kids will do all the work; all you will need to do is choose your tree. This class project includes site preparation, professional landscape consultation to ensure a good choice of plant materials, a tree (or other plants of similar value), bark dust and clean-up.Mutually agreed upon date in February or March.

After hopping over to the North Coast Range, ten lucky adventurers will gather in Alexana Winery’s newly constructed Gold LEED-Certified tasting room overlooking the vineyard. After this tasting and some others wine stops in the valley, let the camp-out games begin.

7th Grade Class Project ~ Glass-Tiled Platter
The 7th Graders have created a beautiful 16 x 16 inch platter with glass artist Jenelle Kathan from Moonbeam Glassworks. The students worked in Jenelle's studio to learn and create their own 2 x 2 inch square. They chose varied shapes, colors and textures of glass to create flowers, butterflies, faces and various whimsical scenes. The spring green platter is framed by the student's work.
